If you are looking for a beautiful neighborhood in San Francisco surrounded by some of the most popular parks in the Bay Area, the Outer Richmond District is a great place to call home. This ethnically diverse community boasts a lively restaurant scene and excellent opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities right at your doorstep.

Residents of the Outer Richmond can easily walk to two lively cultural districts on Clement Street and the newly revitalized Balboa Street corridor. The Clement Street corridor boasts a number of longstanding neighborhood favorites, including Pizzetta 211 and Lokma, as well as the Lucky Star theater for art house favorites and live music.  From morning bagels or dinner and drinks at The Laundromat or fabulous cookies and breakfast sandwiches at Butter Love Bakeshop to wine tastings at Rampant wine bar, Balboa Street is an up and coming area for dining out. .

One of the best features of the Outer Richmond District is that it’s within easy walking distance of Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach and Land’s End Trail.  Golden Gate Park is the crown jewel of San Francisco’s park system and features a plethora of outdoor activity spaces, including cycling and jogging paths, soccer fields and a public gold course as well as a number of treasured cultural institutions, such as the de Young Museum, the Japanese tea garden and the City’s Botanical Garden.  If music is your thing, the park annually hosts both the Outside Lands music festival and the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival.  Since the park is closed to car traffic on Sundays, it provides a peaceful escape from the constant bustle of San Francisco.

The Outer Richmond District extends to scenic Ocean Beach, which locals enjoy for surfing, biking along the coast, or simply hanging out. Plus, the beach is dog-friendly and as long as your pooch is well-trained, it can enjoy the beach off leash!

The Land’s End Trail are and Sutro Baths are mere steps away for most residents of the Outer Richmond District. Locals love to take in the sweeping views along the coastal trails of Land’s End or spend an hour or two exploring the ruins of Sutro Heights and Sutro Baths.

Finally, Lincoln Park golf course is open to the public and offers a challenging course with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge.  Immediately adjacent to the course is the Legion of Honor, which houses an impressive collection of Rodin sculptures among its many art treasures.
